Why nobody chose to travel to one of the many breathtaking destinations in China?Well, to understand their reasoning you'd need to come here and experience for yourself what Chinese tourist destinations are like during any and every national holiday. It is unbearably crowded. And if the crowds won't put you off(which they will), the noise and mess, that accompanies them, will.
If you consider yourself a determined traveler, this would be a test of your endurance.
Persuaded by every Chinese I spoke to, I decided to stay in Guangzhou and explore the city a bit more albeit without any particular plan in mind. Until yesterday I was sure I'd get to visit the praised Guangdong Museum in Zhujiang New Town, perhaps visit Beijing Road for some cheap eats and treats, but most importantly, have time to sort LOTS of things out. Scrap all that. Plan's changed. Not necessarily for the worse, just changed. More on that in my next update...
